FROM MARKETPLACE TO OWNED ECOMMERCE

Building an owned sales channel without breaking the operation behind it.

Cheap Furniture Warehouse had built its early sales through eBay, but the marketplace could not provide an owned brand experience, flexible merchandising or a direct customer relationship. The first phase was to create a Shopify website connected to the existing eBay inventory and listings, allowing the business to begin selling through its own storefront without creating a disconnected catalogue or an unmanageable second workflow.

As the operation grew, the multichannel setup matured. After roughly a year, the business moved fully to Linnworks and began managing inventory, listings and sales channels from one central system. The website therefore had to evolve with the operation rather than remain a one-off build.

THE COMMERCE SYSTEM

One business, several connected channels—and one operation behind them.

BRAND, MERCHANDISING & ACQUISITION

A clearer brand and a storefront designed to sell more than the first product.

Sales Leak Labs created the new Cheap Furniture Warehouse visual identity and carried it through the Shopify experience, campaign creative and large-format outdoor advertising. Product pages were developed to make value, delivery, finance and product information easier to understand, while advanced related-product logic created stronger onward journeys through the catalogue.

The work continued beyond the build. Google, Meta, Awin and email activity were coordinated around the same commercial priorities, with paid campaigns producing returns of up to 10× ROAS. The relationship has remained long-term and iterative: storefront improvements, merchandising, automation and acquisition evolve together rather than being handled as disconnected projects.

COMMERCIAL RESULT

Up to 10× return on ad spend—supported by a storefront and operation built to convert demand.

The result is not attributed to one campaign or one redesign. It comes from connecting the brand, catalogue, customer journey, inventory operation, automation and acquisition strategy—and continuing to improve them over time.
