THE PROBLEM
Streaming services keep showing people the same films.
Streaming platforms are designed around catalogues, genres and viewing history. That works when someone knows exactly what they want—but not when the request is a feeling, a half-remembered scene or something oddly specific. People end up scrolling through the same familiar recommendations, while couples and families lose even more time trying to agree.
Ask The Movie turns that frustration into one plain-language conversation. A user can describe the mood, story, audience, exclusions or even the feeling they want afterwards. The product interprets that intent, converts it into structured criteria, searches a large movie database and checks the strongest candidates again for tone and relevance before presenting them.
CUSTOM-CODED FEATURES
One product, several connected experiences.

WHAT WE BUILT
The customer product and the operating system behind it.
Sales Leak Labs shaped the proposition, customer journeys, responsive interface and full application architecture. The customer-facing product combines conversational discovery with structured movie data, accounts, subscription access and collaborative rooms. Behind it, a purpose-built dashboard gives the team control over users, plans, generations, shared rooms, referrals, content and commercial performance—so the product can be operated and improved without relying on scattered third-party tools.
ASK TOGETHER
One room. Two sets of preferences. A film both people can enjoy.
Movie night often stalls before the film even starts: one person wants something funny, another wants suspense, and neither wants to spend half an hour negotiating genres. Ask Together lets a host create a room and invite someone else to describe what they want in their own words. The system interprets both sets of preferences, finds the overlap and returns recommendations designed for the pair—not a compromise based on one person's watch history.
- Shareable private rooms
- Separate host and guest preferences
- Overlap-based recommendation logic
- Full movie details inside the room
- One generation charged to the host

Ask Together for matching two people's tastes seems like a genuinely useful way to solve movie-night decision paralysis.
